Life is good, I love where I am and what I'm doing. There aren't many punk middle class housewives in the world, so I'm creating a trend. Why does everyone who stays home with their children have to look like something out of L.L. Bean? I LIKE my awfull clothes and big boots and piercings and tatoos. And I love my little girl. These things are not mutually exclusive. And I am not setting a bad example by not comforming to the rules. In fact, I think I'm setting a better example for my daughter than all those parents who say "Always be true to yourself," but then cringe if their kid wears something just a little off of the beaten path. Oh well, I look around at all the diversity in the little kids I see at the playground and it gives me hope. Too bad my generation can't be more like their children. |
